May the 4th Be With You is gearing up for another round! As always, if it's Star Wars, it's in. Holiday Special, yes! Forces of Destiny, yes! Campaign podcast, why not? Crossover pairing from the 2D Clone Wars cartoon and the Baze and Chirrut YA novel? Of course! As in previous rounds, the rules are simple: create a minimum 500 word story or 500 x 500 pixel piece of fan art based on your recipient's requested character(s) or relationship(s) and respecting their Do Not Wants.
Our tentative schedule this year is as follows, with most due dates and deadlines at 2359 UTC:
Schedule:
Feb 15 - Feb 29: Nominations
Mar 1 - Mar 14: Sign ups
Mar 15ish: Matching and assignments go out
Apr 19: Early default deadline
Apr 26: Assignments due, pinch hits go out
May 2: Pinch hits due
May 3: Last minute scrambling and panic
May 4 00:01: Works go live
May 11: Creators revealed
If you have strong opinions about the timing, this is a great opportunity to speak up. We are continuing both character and relationship matching. As we did last year, relationships will be nominated as "Name & Name" or "Name / Name" while single character nominations will be nominated as "Character: Name." Are there other changes you'd like to see? Let us know and we can discuss it here in the comments to this post.
