Sign ups are open!

You must request at least three characters or relationships from the nominated tag set. You may request up to six of each. You will be matched on at least one of your requests. You can link your Dear Yoda letter in your signup if you want. (Placeholder letters are discouraged.) You must indicate if you want to receive fic or art, or if you're open to both.

To facilitate the matching process, you must offer at least four characters AND four relationships (& or /) in your signup. You must also indicate if you're offering to create fanfic or fanart, or if you are offering both.

You will be able to edit your signup from now until 12:01AM UTC on February 21st.

Psst Mod, I think you used the wrong links for the sign up form/summary and prompts summary? They go to the parent collection instead of the 2016 collection.

What if we want to offer (for instance) 4 individual characters but more than 4 relationships? Does every "signup slot" we offer need to have both a character and a relationship listed?

The way the form is built, yes, you have to offer one of each for every offer. Next year, we're leaning towards the Chocolate Box model and forgoing the single characters entirely.

opposite of what others have asked - is this fest closed to gen writers since relationships must be offered, or are you using that term loosely to include non-romantic relatioships?

The tag set for offers and requests includes both romantic (/) and platonic (&) relationships. For example, you could offer and request nothing but platonic Skywalker family interactions:

Luke & Leia
Leia & Ben
Leia & Padme
Anakin & Luke & Leia

etc.

I'm trying to submit my offer, but it won't let me without specifying a relationship in my offers. A bunch of the characters I'm offering for don't /have/ relationship tags, and also I don't really care what relationship - I just want to write those characters.

The signup form is locked as soon as the first person submits. We can't change the requirement to offer both characters and relationships at this point. Next year we'll make the nominations period longer and you can add relationships with those characters to the tag set.

Though I would point out that requiring a relationship on the offer seems to exclude a lot of offers/writers. Like, if I just want to write about Ahsoka and I don't care what relationship the request is for... how would I offer that?

You can't, just as someone who only wants to write about Ahsoka/Anakin and Ahsoka & Anakin and Anakin/Anakin/Padme still has to offer the individual characters. That's the only way to match both single characters and relationships in the same form. Next year we are only going to offer relationship options on the Chocolate Box model.
