Creator reveals!

Thank you all for participating! We had a great turnout this year!

For those of you who haven't had a chance yet to check out your gift and thank your creator, there's no time like the present. Check out your own Gifts tab at in case the AO3 announcement missed your inbox.

A few postmortem questions under the cut:

1- Last year we split the main archive and treat archive. This year they were combined. Which setup did you like better?

2- This year's schedule, from the early signups to the late deadline, was based on the needs of May Mod's day job. In an ideal world, how long would you like to see the writing/drawing period last? Four weeks? Two months?

3- Was the pinch hitting period long enough?

4- The anon period last year and this year were shorter than a week. Is this enough time for you to go through the archive or would you prefer a full week prior to reveals next time around?

See you after The Last Jedi!

1. it's a small enough exchange that assignments and treats together didn't bother me at all.

2. I can't comment; I tend to be a very early writer no matter when it is due... or I default if nothing comes before the due date is a month away. I believe in giving pinch hitters plenty of time if I fail.

3. I didn't pick one up so cannot tell.

4. I actually liked the short anon period?

Thanks for modding! May your exhaust ports always be well-defended. :)

1. I like having them all in one collection.
4. I find that the short anon period gives me enough time to get through everything I want to look at. But I wouldn't be opposed to switching if other people wanted to.
2. I don't really know. I kind of feel like I will leave things until towards the end anyway (oops) so I probably don't need as much time as this year was, but I'm not sure what the "ideal" would be. Last year I probably needed most of the allotted time? I don't remember.
3. n/a for me.

A big thank you to the mods for all your hard work!

1. I definitely prefer the main & treat archives being combined.

2. I vaguely remember being stressed about noms/signups (maybe a chocolatebox conflict? idk) but otherwise, the schedule was fine. I generally prefer a creating period of 1-2 months; I can pound something out faster, but with the extra time I get to really think about what I want to write for my giftee - and I have less personal regrets when re-reading, later.

3. Pinch hit timing did seem a little short. Maybe allocate a couple more days? (But take this with a grain of salt; I didn't offer to pinch hit in that last wave because there was nothing I felt comfortable offering.)

4. (HA. Manage to get through the archive, what a joke. I am an outlier in this, I know - I still have fic I'm trying to read & respond to from several exchanges ago.) Still: I did like the short anon period.

Although I didn't get to participate :(, I really enjoyed reading all the fic! I want to answer the questions from someone who wanted to participate but couldn't, because of the early sign-ups (I missed it) and the short pinch-hit period at the end (I missed that too!)

1. Love them combined

2. I prefer later sign-ups; I'm not even thinking of May 4th until April.

3. Last minute pinch hit period was too short for me (but not for others, I guess!)

4. I don't care about anon periods either way; it makes no difference to me how I read the fic. I honestly wonder about that convention - why anon periods at all?

Thank you everyone and to you for the great exchange and fic!
